  • Final Zine Editing Session

Well folks, if you haven’t heard, Queer Writes is launching another ZINE this year!

This session will be a bit of a chilled one. Together, we’ll peer-review submissions, edit them, and give out all that juicy feedback that helps us kill our darlings. If you’re new to Queer Writes or have been with us a while, these sessions are always a good way to kick back with the girlies, get to know folks a bit better, and dig into all the different flavours of Queer that we have to offer.

We’ll be ripping pieces apart and find more beautiful ways to put them back together. Doesn’t bringing some ruthless (and respectful) carnage just sound fun? I know I personally l o v e giving my unsolicited opinion with the authority of a mediocre straight white man. So, when you tell me the feedback is SOLICITED? Honey, I’m in!

You’ll join us, won’t you? Oh, say you will! Say you will!

  • Teen Angst

Hey. It’s time to dye our hair jet black, chop it up, and put on the REALLY thick liner of our youth. Whether you were a ballerina princess, a pot-smokin’ burnout, or the biggest nerd this side of the Friedmann equations: teen angst is universal. We all cringed; we all cried; we all clutched at our clothing and wondered WHY?

So, let’s dig into that, shall we? For the 16th of July, we’ll be uncovering our teen angst to look at where it comes from, why we cringe to think about it, and how we can hold that confused inner child and tell them ‘I see you and I love you’.

Join us for some healing vibes and communal cringe-worthy times!
