Queer Writes

“We need joy as we need air.

We need love as we need water.

We need each other as we need the earth we share.”

— Maya Angelou

Calling out all the artists! It’s time to DRAW!

Whether you can’t get your hand to illustrate the image in your head or you’re a wickedly talented artiste™, we need your help! Our Zine will be launching later this year and we would love to feature your original artwork, scribbles, doodles, and whatever else you produce.

We’ve done these sessions time and time again, and I gotta tell ya, the best art is almost always the half-arsed, shabby chicken-scratch doodle that somehow ends up looking absolutely magnificent next to my word vomit about the childhood trauma my mum caused by getting rid of of my cat, Jessie, while I was at school. Did an image of a frowning pudgy boy holding a wilted flower with the half erased outline of a cat pop into your head just then? Great, come put it on a page.

We run these drawing sessions by printing out all Zine pieces for folks to pick and choose random ones that spark some creativity.

We’ll leave the rest up to you!
